Bio
Tina Marie Casamento is a NYC actress with National Broadway Tour credits. Her performing experience includes understudying Kate and Hattie in the First National tour of “Kiss Me Kate”, and playing The Street Singer and covering the role of Victoria in “Victor/Victoria”. She also performed in the Montreal and Vegas companies of “Beauty and the Beast”. Recently she had the opportunity of playing her dream role of Bakers Wife in “Into the Woods” at Fulton opera house, as well as Trina in “Falsettos” at The Penobscot Theatre. She originated the role of Aurora in “That Other Woman's Child,” an original new musical in Chattanooga Tennessee .
She began her professional career at The Shakespeare Theatre, The Woolly Mammoth, and Fords Theatre among others in Washington D.C. Favorite roles include Mary in “Merrily We Roll Along”, Agnes in “I Do I Do”, Trina in “In Trousers” and Shelby in “The Spitfire Grill.”
She is a casting associate for Networks Theatricals, heading national tour auditions held in several major U.S. cities. In 2001 she was a casting associate for pilot season at Warner Brothers Television. She has been coaching and directing for over 15 years, and many of her clients have gone on to book prestigious contracts. In 1999, she was presented the Teacher Recognition Award by the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program for her work as a musical theater coach.
She received training at Carnegie Melon University , as well as B.A.D.A. in Oxford ( England ) through Yale University . She received her B.A. at University of Maryland . Favorite directing projects include a staged concert of “Anyone Can Whistle”; an AEA showcase at Vital Theatre Co of “Maids Of Honor”, Fantasticks at The Gallery Players in NY; and “Out of The Reach Of Children,” an unknown musical that she still believes is a little gem.
